Member Recruiting
Coordinator: Wayne Kriemelmeyer
kriemelmeyer@comcast.net

Our new year brings new emphasis on recruiting new members into the program. To this end we will be participating in the YMCA Community Cookout on Saturday Sept 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At this event we will have a station where we will have examples of our activities and greet prospective new members. This event is a large event and we are asking that tribes with different crafts and items of interest ( Indi-N-500 cars, soap box derby cars, etc..) man the booth throughout the day. Please think about what you have done in the program that would wow new members and contact Wayne at the email address above.

Please be on the lookout for a special message detailing the activities, tools and additional information of our recruitment effort.

Bring your son and don't forget mom and the girls. Sunday November 8th at the Danada Forest Preserve Equestrian Center on Naperville Rd just south of Butterfield Rd (Rte 56). Hayrides will run from 5:30 - 7:00 pm and be sure to stay after your ride for hot chocolate and s'mores (provided by the Guide Nation) at the bonfire!! Bring your own roasting sticks. Tribes may bring extras (hot dogs, drinks, etc) if desired. Hayrides are 30 person loads and run every 15 minutes. Cost is $5.00 plus one can of food per person (so two items if father and 1 child) for the local food pantry. Payment accepted at the October longhouse and required by the November longhouse. This is a patch event.

Patches

Once again, the children of our organization have the opportunity to design the event patches that will be worn by the entire nation. Please refer to the Patch Design Schedule on the Member's Resource Page.
Patches can be created in just about any shape, so be creative.

Next Longhouse
Tuesday October 6th 8PM. at the YMCA

Due at the longhouse

  • Registration Forms
  • Sign-up and Payment for Princess Fall Campout
  • Any Payments for Guides Fall Campout not given to Bob Compere at the campout
  • Guides Harvest Moon Hayride sign-up and payment
Please go to the event list on the Federation web page and review the events for this upcoming year. We still need tribes to sign up to coordinate a few events. Most important, we need a guide tribe to coordinate the Christmas Party. Blake O'Halloren from the Illini tribe did it last year and can mentor the new tribe. Please look over the events and decide which event your tribe could comfortably manage. We want to get all of the events assigned by the longhouse. Having this done will provide plenty of time for your tribe to get all of the necessary questions answered and any assistance you need.
