Chief training will be held on September 1st in the kids gym from 7:30 to 8:30. This is for all chiefs; both new and returning. Please respond to Bruce to confirm attendance

Member Recruiting

Our new year brings new emphasis on recruiting new members into the program. To this end we have scheduled two events. We will have an area at the YMCA on both September 12th and 19th between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to greet prospective new members, display some of our activities, and answer any questions they may have about the program. We need father/daughter and father/son teams to man the area during those time slots. We are asking for 4 teams for each Saturday to take a 2 hour shift each.

Our second event is our participation at the YMCA Community Cookout on Saturday Sept 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At this event we will again have a station where we will have examples of our activities and greet prospective new members. This event will be much larger than the previous two weekends and we are asking that tribes with different crafts and items of interest ( Indi-N-500 cars, soap box derby cars, etc..) man the booth throughout the day. Please think about what you have done in the program that would wow new members and contact Wayne at the email address above.

Council of the 4 Winds

The Council of the 4 Winds is our induction ceremony for boys and girls into our program. It will be held at Lake Ellyn on September 27th starting at 7 p.m. It is a family event and we encourage new and existing members and their families to join in welcoming our new guides and princesses. Networking Event

We are having our first Networking event at Shanon's Irish Pub, 428 N. Main, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 (630) 790-9080 on September 15th at 7p.m. It will be for dad's only. A new and exciting way to meet other members that are not in your tribe. This is also a great recruiting tool! Please check your email in the next couple of weeks for additional details. RSVP to Courtney by September 8th.

Sign up for fall campout

Please go to the event list on the Federation web page and review the events for this upcoming year. We need tribes to sign up to coordinate each event. Please look over the events and decide which event your tribe could comfortably manage. We want to get all of the events assigned at the September longhouse. Having this done will provide plenty of time for your tribe to get all of the necessary questions answered and any assistance you need.
