Longhouse

The final Longhouse of our year will be on June 1st, 8 pm at the Y. The membership of our Nations wish to thank those who, through their contribution to the program have made it a successful year.

Looking forward to 2010 - 2011, we recognize the need for new leaders among us to step forward and assume roles vacated by graduating members; at the tribal and council levels.

We ask that each tribe provide us at the June longhouse with the 2010 - 2011 tribal chief's name and contact information. Having this will allow us to communicate with the tribe more effectively over the summer. Please use the attached Tribe Info document and return it as requested.

In addition, we ask that each chief poll his members and provide us with a list of those who will be returning. Doing so will assist our ability to place new members in tribes where they are most needed. 

Lastly, in order to improve our level of preparation, we ask that someone (or some tribe) from each Nation volunteer by the June longhouse to coordinate their fall campout. Getting started now will allow us time to negotiate dates and prices with the campground and be ready to communicate this information to the tribes in August.

  A headcount of the kids (name and age) who will be participating is needed by May 27th. Chiefs can turn in the payment at the June 2nd longhouse or the dads can pay the day of registration (either one).  But we need to know who will be participating by Thursday May 27th so the correct # of trophies can be ordered.
